British rapper Lady Leshurr has appeared in court accused of attacking ex-girlfriend and her new partner on a street in east London.
Prosecutors say that the 34-year-old artist – whose real name is Melesha O’Garro – assaulted Sidnee Hussein and Chante Boyea at around 5am on Saturday after leaving a club in Hackney Wick.
The two women, who are both 27, were taken to hospital but have since been discharged.
Thames Magistrates’ Court was told that Ms Boyea was driving to work along Knotts Green Road, Walthamstow, when the incident happened.
O’Garro, from Kingshurst, Birmingham, will face a jury trial on two charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Smith, from Yardley, Birmingham, is charged with the same offence.
Both women pleaded not guilty, and were released on bail with conditions banning contact with the complainants.
Another hearing will take place at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 21 November.
Leshurr, 34, is best known for her Queen’s Speech series of freestyles. The fourth instalment features a chorus with the phrase “brush your teeth”.
She also appeared on the thirteenth series of ITV series Dancing On Ice.
