Urbanista’s New Seoul True Wireless Earbuds For Gamers Are Real Winners

Tech Industry

The capital of South Korea is a dynamic and exciting place bristling with the latest technology. I’ve never visited Seoul, but if it’s anything like these new true wireless earbuds from Swedish lifestyle audio brand Urbanista, I think I might like it there.

Urbanista has consistently named its earbuds after some of the world’s greatest cities. This time it’s the turn of the South Korean capital Seoul. These true wireless gaming earbuds have a special low latency feature for playing games and watching movies without losing sync between the video and audio signals.

The Seoul earbuds are beautifully designed like all Urbanista products. Their little oval charging case has four LEDs on the front to indicate when the earbuds are being charged and how much battery charge is left. The Urbanista Seoul have been deliberately designed for gamers on the go, with a sleek and compact size, just 70ms of low latency and excellent audio quality. And although they are designed for gamers, they sound great with music.

Reflecting Urbanista’s minimalist Scandi design, the Seoul earbuds are available in four stylish colors: Midnight Black, Electric Blue, Vivid Purple and Pearl White. Urbanista says Seoul’s high-tech lifestyle inspired the colors.

With support for SBC and AAC codecs, these Bluetooth earbuds are great for Android and iOS users. The earbuds were designed by legendary former Sennheiser headphone engineer Alex Grell. And it shows. The Urbanista Seoul are some of the best sub-$100 earbuds I’ve ever heard in a long while. With up to eight hours of playtime, plus another three full charges in the storage case, the Seoul have sufficient stamina for a week’s worth of commuting.

The companion smartphone app for Urbanista Seoul is available for iOS and Android devices. The app immediately shows the remaining battery charge and can be used to reconfigure Seoul’s touch controls to suit the user’s preferences, including switching between gaming and music modes. The app also shows the remaining battery charge on board, EQ settings for different music genres and a facility to install any firmware updates.

Seoul’s in-ear design is wonderfully comfortable and the earbuds feel secure when worn. Included in the box is a selection of silicone tips in various sizes for the best fit possible. Users can switch between gaming and music modes with a tap of the touch controls, making it easy to slip in and out of gaming mode.

The sound produced by these cute little earbuds is nothing short of stunning. I have never heard such a big and fulsome sound from such an affordable pair of earbuds before. They are a compelling listen with a sound backed up with a powerful bass, an excellent midrange and a detailed treble. The result is an incredible sound when gaming or watching a movie, plus they can bring music to life with a convincing soundstage.

Axel Grell, the designer of the Seoul earbuds, had this to say about their signature Urbanista sound: “Detail is at the heart of the sound stage for Urbanista Seoul. Detection of small movements and sounds gives the feeling of living through your game, making the difference between winning and losing. With Urbanista Seoul, the crystal clear and transparent sound is designed to ensure your head is in the game.”

Verdict: If you love gaming and music, these great little earbuds from the Swedish lifestyle audio brand are the ideal solution. The Urbanista Seoul have a superb sound that you wouldn’t expect from such an affordable pair of true wireless earbuds. The low latency mode is excellent for gaming and movie watching, ensuring the picture and sound are always in sync. The battery life is awesome, while the overall design is incredibly appealing. The only thing missing is active noise cancelation, but if you don’t need that, the Urbanista Seoul are hard to beat. Highly Recommended.
